At the village of krasi you will admire the old plane tree.The Old Plane Tree of Krasi is a legendary and awe-inspiring natural wonder that holds a significant place in the heart of the village. This majestic tree, often referred to as the "2000-year-old plane tree," stands as a symbol of history, resilience, and cultural importance within the Cretan Village of Krasi.

Time for lunche in one of the local tavernas.Indulge in traditional Cretan cuisine at one of the local tavernas. Taste dishes made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients while enjoying the serene atmosphere of the plateau.

You will make a short stop at the monastery of Agios Georgios ''Selinari ''to give a closer look at one of the historical monasteries of Crete.

Then you will be greeted by the emblematic bay of Merabelo with the clear blue waters. one of the most unique authentic corners of Cretan beauty is revealed in an area that hides within it all the beauty and essence of the Cretan landscape are the traditional fishing villages of Elounda and Plaka from the port of Plaka we will board at a boat that will take us to the historical island of Spina Longa where you will admire the fortress and the former settlement of lepers. Αlternatively you can browse the picturesque alleys of Plaka, enjoying the view of the Cretan sea or swim in the deep blue waters of Merabelos bay

The olive oil tour was most enlightening. Marionas was extremely knowledgeable. Answered all our questions and more. It was a private tour for the 4 of us. He was very flexible about which parts of the tour we wanted to spend the most time on. He took us to an amazing Greek restaurant with delicious food as well.

Amazing experience

The day started early, but as soon as the tour started, we were in for a treat! Marinos, the tour guide, was friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. The first stop was an olive oil factory, where he explained how olive oil is made, and how much olive oil cretans consume! We were fascinated, and were given enough time to look around and enjoy the experience! During the tour, he bought us coffee and fruit, and made sure we were comfortable the whole time! The van was air-conditioned, and well-maintained. We highly recommend this tour, if you want to see the “real Crete”, as well as the full experience! One of our favorite days of the whole vacation!

Saw it all and had a great experience!

We had the best day seeing eastern Crete with Marinos! It was a full day touring the olive oil factory, climbing up to Zeus Cave, and exploring Spinalonga Island. Marinos is a wealth of information regarding Crete and was a truly excellent host and guide for our private tour. We appreciated seeing so much in one day and Marinos’ flexibility based on our preferences. I highly recommend booking this tour; many thanks, Marinos!

Our Best Day in Crete

What a fantastic day we had! Marinos treated us like his own family and was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Crete. We loved learning about the history and culture of Crete from showing us his wedding video to explaining centuries long traditions of the Cretin people. My entire family enjoyed the adventure, from my teenager to my husband. Highly recommend!
