I took a few days to reflect on our tour before writing this review, and I’m glad I did. The experience was deeply moving, thought-provoking, and profoundly meaningful. Hearing firsthand from a Tibetan person about his experience living in Nepal added a level of authenticity and insight that made the tour truly special.
One of the highlights was an hour-long conversation with a monk, which was both humbling and unforgettable. We were encouraged to ask him anything, and listening to his life story and beliefs felt like an intimate privilege. By the end of our conversation, I felt as if I had known him forever.
We also had the unique opportunity to visit a Tibetan doctor, where each of us had our pulse read - a fascinating experience. The tour included visits to two monasteries, as well as a long-established Tibetan refugee camp, offering a deeper understanding of the community’s history and resilience.
Lunch was another highlight. We enjoyed authentic Tibetan cuisine, including delicious momos and a beautifully seasoned vegetable soup - both absolutely fantastic.
Our guide, Thupten, was exceptional - passionate, knowledgeable, and deeply connected to the stories and places he shared with us. He curated an incredible experience that left me feeling exhausted yet enlightened. This tour is a must for anyone seeking a meaningful and immersive cultural experience. I highly recommend it.
