Combine a walking tour of Renaissance-era Florence with a skip-the-line tour of the Accademia Gallery (Galleria dell’ Accademia)! With a local guide, stroll around Florence’s historical center to see top sights like Florence Duomo as well as Renaissance architecture. Learn about influential Florentines like the Medici family and the poet Dante Alighieri, and then skip the lines to enter the Accademia Gallery. See Michelangelo’s original ‘David’ sculpture and learn all about the famous sculptor who hailed from Florence.   • Florence Historic Center (Pass By)

    Visit many back streets of Florence city center and learn about its Medieval and Renaissance history.

  • Piazza della Signoria

    Visit Piazza della Signoria, the main square of Florence that offers a view of the political and artistic presence of this Renaissance city. Here your guide will introduce you to one of the most influential Florentine families, the Medici.

  • Ponte Vecchio

    During the 3-hour walking tour spend time in the Ponte Vecchio and learn about its history since it was built back in the middle ages. Peruse though its many jewelry shops, once occupied by butchers.

  • Duomo - Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore

    See the magnificent Cathedral and Baptistery of Florence (exterior). Learn about the famous Brunelleschi Dome designed by Brunelleschi.

    See the exterior of the tall bell tower designed by Giotto, one of the showpieces of Florentine gothic architecture.

Best storytelling guide in Florence!

I recently had the pleasure of having explored Florence with guide Antonella and it was an absolute pleasure and one of the best parts of my time in Florence. She was kind and extremely informative, being a Florence native she had a wonderful approach to story telling and brought it all to life in our tour! In addition the host company was very responsive during my planning process prior to my trip.

Florence is a beautiful city with so much to offer, but I’m sure we had the best guide in town—and that is what made it such a special experience. Antonella showed us many of the incredible places—churches, palazzos, etc.—that tourists would have no way of knowing they were there. The crowds were gathered at sites such as the Duomo and the Academia, of course, but there were so many other little hidden gems that were delightful as well as historically fascinating. We have a much greater appreciation for Florence than we would have if we had stayed on the traditional tourist paths. Bravo, Antonella!

Good introduction to Florence

Somehow we ended up being the only people on this tour, so we had a private guide for the morning. What a great introduction to Florence! This is a good tour to do early in your stay because it helps you get your bearings. The best part is that it ends at The Academia so you can stay longer there and see the rest of the collection if you like.
