Begin in Millennium Square and enjoy views of the new developments in the city as well as the introduction story to St. Cuthbert and the beautiful Fenwick Lawson statue in the square itself.

Enter the medieval market square & discover the stories behind this architectual gem with its statues and market hall. If open, we will be able to enter the Victorian Market

On the route leading to Palace Green, enjoy a true experience of medieval Durham with lanes filled with medieval architecture, clues of a bygone past and little snickleways (called vennels in Durham) leading to some extraordinary finds. In Palace Green, marvel at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Durham Castle & Cathedral and also hear stories of Prince Bishops and your surrounding square...

Durham Cathedral

Gaze at this magnificent Romanesque building - one of the largest of its kind. If time allows, you will be able to walk through the cathedral and your local expert can give you some insights during your walkthrough. Feel free to reach out to us if you would like a fully guided tour of the cathedral as part of your tour. Please note the cathedral can close from time to time due to services or special events at short notice.

One of my best tour experiences

I did two tours, one of Hadrian's Wall, and one specially created for me, which followed the life story of a 19th century serial killer (for a book I'm working on). I kept congratulating myself on being smart enough to pick this tour company. The trips werebeautifully researched, fun, and incredibly knowledgeable. The guide, Anna Unger, was thoughtful, smart and just good company. Beautiful country, terrific guide, great experience start to finish.
