Overview

In Texas, even our convertibles are bigger: Find out for yourself with 360-degree views of Austin in a unique, convertible-top Mercedes-Benz sprinter. Take in major sights, including time to hop off the van and appreciate beautiful views, iconic murals, and historic sites along the way. Expect two stops for some light walking. Possible stops (only two from this list)-TX State Cemetery, the Austin Central Library, and the Pfluger bridge (Routes & stops subject to change due to events or closures.) This small-group tour (14 passenger max) is the one to do if you want a comprehensive look at what makes this city what it is: from the towering architecture of downtown, the humble yet active expanse of the south side, the quaint and historical east, and the perpetually awe-inspiring capitol and campus. Note: convertible top may be closed during bad weather, cold/hot/rain, as well as any part of the route that is on the highway where our speed would cause too much wind to be comfortable.

Itinerary

Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge

This is an alternate stop-Passengers will have chance to hop off and explore the Pfluger Pedestrian Bridge and take in expansive views of Ladybird Lake and the Austin downtown skyline. *Subject to change due to events or closures

This is an alternate stop that doesn't always happen. Passengers get to go inside the Historic Driskill Hotel to learn the history of this iconic building and Austin's oldest hotel. *Subject to change due to events or closures

Texas State Cemetery

This is an alternate stop- Passengers get to explore cemetery grounds and see what is the Texas equivalent to the Arlington National Cemetery. *Subject to change due to events or closures

We will pass by various sites on the UT campus.
Paramount Theatre (Pass By)

We will pass the historic Paramount Theatre which still screens movies to this day.

Great Best of Austin tour with Doug from AO Tours

Took the best of Austin 90 min tour with Doug. As it’s off-season and chilly (for Austin) I was the only tourist.This didn’t’ faze Doug who delivered a fun and informative tour. He has a stand-up comedy background and it shows. He was witty and friendly and very knowledgeable about Austin. The tour hits all the city’s highlights ,cultural and entertainment districts and you get plenty of restaurant suggestions as well as a short stop at Austin’s impressive new library. The tour is very reasonably priced and if you’re lucky enough to get Doug as your guide you’ll have a great time. Highly recommended.

First time here in Austin, Tx. Definitely recommend a tour with AO tours siteseeing. The weather wasn't too cold at the time. Definitely gave our group the option to go convertible or keep the glass roof up. Most of the tour we experienced was sitting in the van. The van was well kept and clean. Doug did let us get off once. At the Austin public library for 15ish mins. Doug, recommended us to go to the garden deck located on the 6th floor and see other areas close by. The view was fantastic of the Colorado river and partial skyline of Austin. Our tour guide Doug overall was very informative on the history and made the tour fun. Tour about 1.5 hrs long. Definitely gave us a quick crash course history of the area, buildings, good pointers and recommendations. Everything in the description was covered. :)
