Overview

Stonetown is a UNCESCO world heritage site since 2000. It was the main center of the slave trading around the Indian ocean, you can see many important spots of the abominable past of this time. The city is full of historical importance in East Africa. Stonetowns architecture, reflects the various influences underlying the Swahili culture, giving a unique mixture of Arab, Persian, Indian and European elements. Immerse yourself in all the wonderful smells, colors and spectacle that you can only find here through the mix of the different cultures. In our guided Tour we will see and explain all important places of the history, the House of Wonders, Forodhani Garden, Slave Trade Museum / Anglican Church, the Hindu Temple, Catholic Church, Darajani Market, Jaws Corner and much more. Great Experience - Easy going and reliable guides.

This was really a great experience. We booked the tour the evening before, and the communication via whatsapp was smooth and we immediately found Abdi at the agreed meeting point. The tour guide himself (Massoud) was also great. He was knowledgable and an original local from stonetown. He took us to all the important sights and also explained the historical context, very nice! Over all this was great value for the price, and a generally interesting tour.

We arranged a tour of Stone town one day before and everything went smoothly. Our guide was fluent in English, answered all of our questions, and this was generally a very good, tailored experience. The price was good and clearly communicated from the beginning. We had no surprise stops to be sold souvenirs or other things, to the contrary. The highlight was a stop at a very successful local restaurant where the food was delicious and service was quick. Highly reccomend these guys!

I heard about Splash Tours in a FB group where they got a few recommendations. I know why - we went on a trip to Prison Island and Nakupenda + Stone Town. For the trips to the island we were accompanied by Abdi's younger brother who was very kind and provided us with interesting info, When we got back we took a strole around Stone Town with Abdi, who you can tell knows what he's doing and was great at showing us around the city. We loved it! Great job guys and best to you!

Did the stonetown tour with abdi. Great experience I would definitely recommend. Abdi is very knowledgeable when it comes to the zanzibar history which itself is very interesting. He also is very friendly and relaxed. I will definitely recommend the tour with splash zanzibar.
