Day trip to Potsdam from Berlin

We did a day out to Potsdam ,40 minutes by train from Berlin. Use hop on bus service, we were met at the station by hop on bus staff. We paid for 4 adults 15 euros each. 15 stops and worth doing just to get around to all the attractions we wanted to see. We got to Potsdam at 10am back on our way to Berlin by 17.00pm Potsdam might take 2 days to see everything, but our one day there was good .

Sightseeing tour of Potsdam

We had purchased the Berlin Welcome card All Inclusive, which included both public transport to Potsdam and the City Sightseeing tour of Potsdam. To take the tour you have to validate your ticket at the North Exit of Potsdam station (there is a desk and tour umbrella) and then you wait for the bus. The tour takes you all round the very attractive town of Potsdam and there are stops at all the key sights. As we only had a morning, we simply went round the town but you could see all the palaces and other key spots, including crossing the Bridge of Spies. Very enjoyable way to spend 2 hours.

Great bus tour with many languages to choose from. Informative and good to be able to go on and off. We learned a lot underway. And had good time for lunch at Cecilehof and walking in Sans Souci park.

Upgrade for even better tour

I strongly recommend that anyone going to Potsdam put aside at lease 3 day. There is a lot to see. We chose the guide tour which was only €2 more than the hop on hop of tour, but gave full access to both. Very knowledgable guide.
