Overview

This Cappadocia Green tour departs from your Cappadocia hotel. Along with a professional tour guide and driver, you will visit historic sites in Cappadocia such as Derinkuyu Underground City, Ihlara Valley, Belisirma Village, Selime Monastery, Pigeon Valley. Also including lunch and museums fees. And Optional: Pre-sunrise Cappadocia hot air balloon flight.

Itinerary

  • Ihlara Valley

    (Optional: Pre-sunrise Cappadocia hot air balloon flight. Hotel pickup: 5.15am – Dropoff: 7.15am) Green tour: Pick-up from your hotel at 10:00 and setting off for the lengthy ride to Ihlara Valley. On the way, a visit to the biggest of all 36 discovered underground cities in the region; Derinkuyu Underground City. Arrival at the Ihlara Valley; going down 382 steps into the canyon and stopping at the Belisirma Village after a 3.5km hike. Relax by the river at Belisirma Village where lunch is served. Following lunch continue on to the Selime Monastery. Visit this 13th century monastery carved out of the rock by Christian monks. Stop at Yaprakhisar Panorama for a great photo opporturnity of Selime Monastery featured in the ‘Star Wars’ films. Returned to your hotel at the conclusion of the tour. (17.00pm) Places to See: – Derinkuyu Underground City – Ihlara Valley – Belisirma Village – Selime Monastery – Pigeon Valley

Wonderful experience, highly recommend, worth the money.

This was my second time doing this tour and I thoroughly enjoyed our guide, Handan, and seeing the incredible sites again. Handan was informative, fun and very accommodating and our driver, Murat, was excellent as well. Several of the places visited on this tour are quite a ways away from central hotel/pension areas so it is definitely worth the money to be able to check out some really amazing underground and above ground cities. The hike through Ilhara Valley is peaceful and not a strenuous walk (though very dusty!). Overall a great day and a great experience.

Derinkuyu Underground City is amazing and the tourist shops fun to visit. Our tour guide Ayakut( apologies if not spelt right) was an energiser bunny, with amazing insight into symbols and the history of the area. I will forgive him for the hard walks he made us do, simply because the end result was worth it. He was a great guide and the Captain (or Agean I think was the spelling) was a fantastic driver who drove safely and got us where we needed to be.
