Overview

This tour offers a unique chance to travel with the original drivers who put their lives at risk every day during The Troubles trying to provide a transport service in their black cabs to the people of The famous Falls road and Shankill road. This riveting journey into the most recent conflict in Irish/Brtish history. Your local knowledgeable guide will provide you with an insight into the famous murals and epic peacewalls around Belfast. Your tour is transport based, travel in our luxurious classic London cabs.

Itinerary

  • Divis

    Divis flats was used as a British army base the top 2 floors when they occupied 1969 and stayed for over 25 years. This is the foot of the Republican Falls road and you will go through the narrow street depicted in films such as The Name of The Father.

  • Bobby Sands Mural

    The world famous Falls road the birth place of the Provisional Irish Republican Army. Learn about 800 years of history of Irish history come and let your guide who lived throughout The Trroubles. These murals have been painted by locals people explaining the plight of the Catholic community. The Falls road is several mile long.

  • Crumlin Road Gaol (Pass By)

    Built 1800s and was a hanging gaol also.This jail housed some of the most famous IRA,UVF ,UFF and INLA right up to the 90s when it got closed when the prisoners got released due to the Good Friday agreement.

    With over 40 murals changing monthly for Palestine,Cuba,The Kurdish just to name a few. You guide will explain each mural and the connection with Republicans

Ricky was so knowledgeable and personable he made the experience incredibly educational and poignant at the same time. Being from London, I came with pre conceived views of the troubles, in a short 2 hour tours, he was able to educate me enough to entirely change my political views on the topic. Highly recommend.

Black cab tour

Jim was our driver. He was super-very knowledgeable and friendly. Throughout the ride, he provided many opportunities for pictures and even parked the cab twice, climbed in back, and sat with us to tell the story of the troubles. We left with a much greater appreciation of the history of Northern Ireland.
