Wales with the best tour guide

Published on Apr, 2025

Great day exploring Wales with John! We only had one day on a cruise stop and are so happy we booked this private tour. He kept it fluid and we got to see so much with spur of the moment stops when we expressed an interest. We even took a short hike up to a lake in Snowdonia. We visited South Stack lighthouse, looked for puffins, visited Roman building remains, Menai bridge, the walled/castle town of Conway, Caernarfon Castle, and even learned some Welsh. Fun day with a bit of everything. John is a knowledgeable and fun guy!

A town that has it all.

Visited my friends Grandson who mis studying at the University. Stayed at the Travelodge just outside town. Bangor is rich in history being the birthplace of education in Wales. There are eateries to serve every taste and budjet from small bispoke cafes to A-La-Cart restaurants via Weatherspoons and Macdonalds. There is plenty for those who love the arts including theatre, cinema and galeries. It is a good centre for exploring Anglesey, Snowdonia and the Welsh North East coast. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Terrific way to see North Wales!

Published on Mar, 2025

We used Celticos for two days of touring North Wales. It was a phenomenal experience. We're a family of four (kids were ages 9 and 11 at the time of our tour). John, the tour guide, was friendly, engaging, and very informative. He customized our days to fit our broad plans and helped guide us towards restaurants and other sightseeing spots that we hadn't identified in advance. Our main goals were to see castles including Beaumaris, Conwy, and Harlech. We did Beaumaris and Conwy in one day, with John showing us around Conwy and pointing us to a great lunch spot. The second day we drove to Harlech, stopping at a site of Roman ruins on the way. After Harlech, John suggested a drive through the scenic Snowdonia region including lunch in an amazing mountain town. He dropped us off at the Bangor train station at the end of the day so we could catch a train to our next destination. Additionally, John was very communicative in advance of our trip, even helping to coordinate a taxi for us from Bangor to Caernarfon, where we were staying. I cannot recommend John and Celticos tours enough. It was the best way to see North Wales and a true highlight of our trip to the UK.

A perfect experience and amazing host

The experience on this tour with John was outstanding. His attention to detail and connection with us was so lovely. We took a half day tour, in fact the tour lasted for over 5 hours, around North Wales. John explained all the areas he took us to, he gave us as much time as we needed at the stops we made and gave us a brilliant personalised experience. He took us to the places he knew we would want to see and when we requested some different places he obliged. Nothing was too much for John. Even purchased some Snowdonia cheese for us.

Wales Adventure with Family & Friends

Published on Nov, 2024

The entire process of planning and then touring with John went so smoothly. He took my rough wishlist and turned it into an amazing 4-day adventure! We visited a variety of places in Wales between Llandudno, Snowdonia, and Cardiff. This trip exceeded my expectations!
