Itinerary

Royal Selangor Visitor Centre

As we drive to the outskirts of the city, cruise along the ‘Ambassador Row’ and Malay villages. Our first stop, the Royal Selangor Pewter, is the largest and most modern pewter factory in the world, renowned for high quality products and exceptional craftsmanship. During the tour of the factory, you will get a chance to learn the different processes, such as casting, filing, polishing, soldering, hammering and engraving of pewter products. Next, we stop at a Batik Factory to see how batik is being designed and printed.

Batu Caves

Our last stop will be at the limestone hills of Batu Caves. A flight of 272 steps will lead up to the sacred Hindu temple cave where the shrine of Hindu deity, Lord Murugah lies. Another cave, called the museum cave, is filled with images of deities and murals depicting scenes from the Hindu scriptures.

Our few days in KL

We've spent the last two days with Tour51 with our guide and driver Major Ton. He was a great character and his experience and local knowledge of Kuala Lumpur, surrounding regions and local customs was simply fantastic. Strong highlights for us were the Petronas twin towers, visiting the Batik manufacturing factory, National museum, War memorial and the Royal Selengor Pewter factory tour. I was impressed with the size and beauty of the statue that impose its serene and majestic aura. The monastic blessing is a necessary step on your preparation to climb the steps that leads to the cave. Amidst people and all sorts of monkey personalities the climbing experience will be a beautiful memory to cherish for the rest of your life. It is definitely a site to visit in Kuala Lumpur.

Amazing statue. There are 272 steps. Don't look down when climbing. Take you time. Once get inside, the cave is amazing. You can go into second cave after taking a couple more steps. The second cave has natural sun light coming from open-top. I like second cave more. Cave is so big I think a 737 can fit. We didn't go to Dark Cave. You have to pay to go in there. Two paid trips for Dark Cave. One for Education and the other is for Adventure which is farther inside the cave. You will see monkeys there. They are not aggressive. One note, don't look up while climbing; you will be looking at someone's bottom.

Excellent tour. Even though there were other guests in the trip as it was a shared trip, was enjoyable.Only the Batik village included in the trip was time wasting thing. Just a store with so much things to sell, most of which are not traditionally printed items. Driver was very informative and timely.

Only half hour from central of KL, you don't need to buy any tour with a travel operator do it yourself is very cheap. When you arrive there you are going to see something incredible this place is a MUST to visit. Enjoy
