Overview

Discover the amazing spooky history of Old Town Alexandria on this 90-minute guided ghost tour. Bring the whole family! This tour is all-ages friendly. A costumed guide will lead you through hidden alleyways and tell tales from the historic places and haunted buildings along the way. Lovers of history and ghosts will love discovering all Old Town has to offer. We'll pass by Carlyle House, Union Street Public House, and enjoy meandering along the cobblestone streets. Stories range from siren voices heard at the edge of the waterfront, to Revolutionary soldiers still marching the cobblestone streets. You'll also learn the tragic tale of Laura Schafer, the Burning Bride. One of the most famous ghost stories of Alexandria. This is a great tour for guests of all-ages to explore the history and mysterious ghostly side of Old Town Alexandria.

    Hear all about the ghostly inhabitants of the historic Carlyle House. We will gather on the edge of the grounds to hear stories with the impressive backdrop. You may even be able to snap a few eerie photos. Guests have captured photos of orbs in the past!

    Explore the ghost stories and haunted bars of Old Town with your costumed tour guide. The town, which dates back to 1695, is steeped in rich American History. Your tour guide will reveal all the ghostly inhabitants who still seem to inhabit the area. Stories range from siren voices heard at the edge of the waterfront, to Revolutionary soldiers still marching the cobblestone streets. Lovers of history and ghosts will love discovering all Old Town has to offer.

Alexandria's cobblestones: Do they cover more than bones?

Our ghostly host, Magic, was a delightfully entertaining spirit. We enjoyed his charming, yet creepy, stories which were all shared with a touch of wry humor. It was great to have an opportunity to stroll around Old Town after dark, and we even captured an unnatural orb on my daughter's camera as a spooky souvenir.
