Overview

‘Adelaide Highlights with Wine Tasting and Coast’ is a full day tour featuring some of Adelaide's finest experiences. With several pick-up points around Adelaide CBD this small group day tour offers a wonderful balance of sightseeing and wine tasting and packs a punch as far as must do highlights when visiting Adelaide. City Tour, Mount Lofty Lookout, 2 hours to explore Township of Hahndorf, then off to McLaren Vale to enjoy wine tasting and more sightseeing. Wine tasting at the beautiful Chapel Hill wines and the stunning Haselgrove Wines, photo opportunities and a scenic drive along the coastline with a 15 min stop in seaside suburb of Glenelg. You can choose to stay in Glenelg and watch the sunset, and catch the tram back to Adelaide at your convenience, or jump back on board and head back to Adelaide for drop off.

    Chapel Hill Winery tantalises you with a wonderful structured wine tasting experience.in their picturesque cellar door. From Chapel Hill it's on to the Main Street of McLaren Vale - Here you'll have some free time, what you do with it is up to you. Enjoy a taste or two of wine in Hardy Tintara's Cellar door. Or maybe enjoy a cleansing beer or grab a coffee and watch the World go by. Or why not use your time gathering some souvenirs of the sweet variety? Visit the fabulous Almond Train; an old converted train carriage offering every variety of Almond imaginable, or pop in the Iconic Aussie Fruchocs chocolate factory and pick-out a selection of sweet gifts. It's time now to climb back on board as we take the short drive to our next winery the quaint Shingleback Winery. This tasting is super relaxed, enjoy a structured tasting of Shinglebacks finest wines, and if you're peckish, you can purchase a cheeseboard to enjoy with your wine. It's now time to climb back on the bus as we head back towards Adelaide. But we're taking the scenic route so you can gaze out at the Adelaide Coastline, as we journey towards our final featured destination of the day - Adelaide's beautiful seaside suburb of Glenelg There are two options for you here. Option 1, take a 15 min stroll to get an idea of what Glenelg has to offer, before hopping back on the bus to Adelaide, or Option 2, leave the tour in Glenelg and spend a few leisurely hours enjoying the abundance of shops, restaurants and of course the beach, pick a spot for dinner and get ready to watch one of the most spectacular sunsets anywhere in the World.   • Onkaparinga (Pass By)

    Take the beautifully scenic route through the Onkaparinga Hills on our way to McLaren Vale. Keep your eyes peeled and you may spot Kangaroo, Koala or Emu as you enjoy the rolling hillsides and neat little homes tucked away.

  • Hahndorf

    Enjoy over an an hour and a half in the Quaint German township of Hahndorf. Here, grab a bite to eat in one of the local little eateries (at own cost) or sit and enjoy a coffee and watch the world go by. If grabbing a souvenir or two is what you're after then enjoy a wonder up the main street and check out the unique array of boutique shops and unique little gift shops.

Professional driver (Bruce) provided great commentary and explanation during both an Adelaide Highlights Tour and Hahndorf & McLaren Vale Areas. Applying his experience, he catered for the sightseeing needs of those on the coaster bus. eg. Locating a wild koala to photograph. Amble time provided at key stops. eg. Mt Lofty Look-out, Township of Hahndorf and Glenelg. The McLaren Vale wine tasting led by Rebecca (she was exceptional) and then at Chapel Hill wines with Bruce (yes there were 3 x Bruce on our tour) provided for a full and satisfying experience. Highly recommended that this is the tour to choose if you can only participate in one tour!

Fantastic tour! Great driver and tour guide, Bruce, very knowledgeable. We had a total of 12 wine tastings in two vineyards. Hahndorf is a must visit, 2hrs there was enough for a delicious lunch, plenty of choices there and a walk on the main street. Highly recommend this tour!

We chose to do a full day tour of Adelaide rather than the hassle of hiring a rental car. Our tour guide (Bruce) was great - picking us up on time and taking us to see all that was on the itinerary. We had a quick drive tour of the city before heading up to the Mount Lofty summit. Next was the lovely German township of Hahndorf where we had a couple of hours to shop and/or eat before heading off to two wineries for some fantastic wine tasting (no additional cost). There was an option to purchase a cheese platter at the second winery which was delicious and great value!
