Overview

THIS TOUR REQUIRES 4 GUESTS TO START What's LoDo? I’m happy you asked! Lower Downtown is Denver’s oldest neighborhood which is home to some of the best restaurants and attractions in Denver. On this 2 hour walking tour your savvy local guide will share fascinating history and point out local hot spots, where to eat and drink. We walk about 1.5 miles where we bring to life the past, present, and future of our beloved city. This tour is perfect for those who have limited time and a busy schedule. At the end of the tour you will feel more like a local and less like a tourist! We begin the tour at iconic Union Station and its significance to the survival of Denver as a city. Over the next 2 hours we walk a loop around LoDo where we share stories of Denver’s first Chinatown, visit the most famous bordello of its time, visit the oldest operating hotel in Denver, and learn about the underground tunnel system that runs beneath the city. TOUR LEAVES AT 11 A.M. PLEASE ARRIVE AT 10:45 A.M.

  • Arrive at 10:45 am. to check in and receive your equipment, tour starts right at 11 a.m. Parking is tough to find so use the app "SpotHero" to find parking.
  • Families welcome, young children are FREE, please select a young children's ticket so we have the appropriate amount of equipment for the group.
  • A moderate amount of walking is involved (1.5 miles)
  • Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately
  • Wear comfortable shoes and we encourage you to bring water and sunscreen
  • There are mild adult topics that might come up as we do talk about the Red Light District. And there are dad jokes, if you don't like dad jokes, you will not enjoy this tour.

Great way to spend a couple hours working up an appetite.

Our family enjoyed the tour and learning about Denver's history. Great story telling with some dad jokes here and there. We were able to visit the Downtown Area again later with more confidence about where we wanted to spend more time.

Denver's Diverse History

I was born and raised in Denver but moved away a while ago. This tour gave me the diverse Denver history I never learned before, which included not only information about the Native tribes and gold miners, but also about the Chinese and former slaves. Our guide, Will, was friendly and knowledgeable. He also gave us the "Soapy Smith" experience, and you'll have to take the tour to find out what it is.
