Overview

Jebel Shams is the highest mountain in Oman. Its name is popularly given to the whole area. The narrow and deep gorge is one of the top places to visit in Oman, often called the Arabian Grand Canyon. It is difficult to capture how impressive it is, but below is my guide to help you plan your visit: road, views and the Balcony walk.

We had a fabulous experience with Sunshine Tours, from discussing the correct customised tour package to the vehicle and guide assigned to us. Big Thanks to our guide Ali, who was with us throughout the 3 days and the team on ground who was constantly in touch with us during the trip.

We went on a private overnight tour to Jebel Akdhar, Jebel Shams, Nizwa und Misfah al Abriyyin with our guide Majid in October. The tour was amazing and we learned a lot about Oman's culture and nature. The organisation before the trip was really smooth and the price we paid for two days was super fair. Majid was very nice and knowledgeable and the highlight of the tour was definitely lunch with his family in his home! The landscape in Oman's mountains is super beautiful and I can totally recommend doing this tour with Sunshine Tours.
