I did this mokoro tour of the Okavango Delta as part of the Kiboko Adventure Safari and it was amazing.
There were two of us in the mokoro (dug-out canoe) with the pilot (the man who uses a long pole to push us through the long grasses, reeds and water lilies). We also had a tour guide who told us about the flora and fauna that we saw along the way. We got to see birds' eggs resting on lily pads; tiny little "Jesus" birds which walked across the surface of the water; and beautiful, beautiful water lilies - a veritable carpet of them floating on the water.
The guide and his pilots were friendly, knowledgeable and very adept at manipulating the mokoros.
It was such a peaceful way to view the delta from the perspective of the water's surface itself. No loud engines; not looking down from on high. Just the quiet dip of the poles and the sounds of the wildlife.
I highly recommend seeing the Okavango Delta this way.
