Amazing El Yunque tour with Carlos! Fun, safe, and full of local insight—highly recommend!

I had the most incredible experience on a small-group tour of El Yunque National Forest, and it was all thanks to our guide, Carlos. From start to finish, he brought the rainforest to life with his knowledge, warmth, and genuine passion for Puerto Rico’s natural beauty. Carlos made the experience feel personal and relaxed—like exploring with a local friend who just happens to know everything about the plants, wildlife, and history of the forest. He pointed out hidden waterfalls, native species, and even showed us how the forest has recovered over time. His storytelling made it so much more than just a scenic hike. What I appreciated most was how Carlos balanced fun with safety. Whether it was helping us navigate slippery trails or recommending the best spots for photos, he made sure everyone felt included and cared for. You could tell he truly loves what he does—and that energy made the whole day unforgettable. If you’re thinking about visiting El Yunque, I can’t recommend this tour—and Carlos—highly enough. It was a highlight of my time in Puerto Rico!

Fantastic boat excursion! Trip highlight!

The whole experience was a great time! The crew was excellent and very nice (please tip them!) Snorkeling gear was provided and you go out for about 45 minutes-an hour. The water is BEAUTIFUL around the island! Lunch was solid, there’s enough food for everyone to have 1-2 sandwiches. Then you hop onto the beach for about an hour and a half. Worth mentioning: if you plan on bringing things onto the beach, you have to carry it through the water, which will be about 5-6 feet deep off the back of the boat.

First time riding a horse and I love every moment of it!!!!

This was my first time riding a horse. It was beautiful. Our tour guide was very professional. I will highly recommend this

Incredible caves!

This tour is truly one of the top 3 adventures/tours I’ve ever book! Cathy and Elliot were amazing guides and this tour exceeding ours expectations because of them. They offer to pick you up wherever you’re staying which is so nice! They even dropped us off at a restaurant they recommended by our hotel so my partner and I could go straight to lunch! The caves were INCREDIBLE! The water is so nice and refreshing and Cathy and Elliot are so kind and are very clear with instructions. My partner and I felt super safe with them! They also take pictures of you and you friends so you don’t have to worry about bringing your electronics which was so nice! I would 100000% do this tour again and would book with Cathy and Elliot on my next trip to PR!

Great experience

Early take off meant we had the island to ourselves for a bit. Crew was amazing, helped folks who weren’t sure about snorkeling feel safe.

You have to see it. My pictures won’t do it justice. At the end of the day, the tour was a good tour and everyone helped me out to ensure I was able to go. There was a mix up but the tour staff worked with me and I was able to see the water glow. It was a beautiful sight.

Great beer!

I had a great time and Shelly was a wonderful host! She is very knowledgable about craft beers in general and can take you to great breweries off the beaten path that you would never find on your own. If you love great beer I highly recommend this tour.

Would not recommend

My sister and I went on this tour together and it wasted an entire day of our trip. For starters we were told the night before the pickup time was 9:30-10:30 am and when I asked for specifics they wouldn’t tell us anything else. So we went to the meetup spot at 9:30 and they called up around then and we met them in the shuttle. The other families did not get there until after 10:30. I can’t even blame them because the instructions were unclear. The tour guide told us that the latest we would wait was until 11:00 after we had already been sitting in the van for 45 minutes. So finally we actually get to the tour and the guide is stressing that we need socks so we don’t slip on the rocks and not to bring anything because it could get lost. Don’t let them convince you to buy socks and bring whatever you want on the hikes. I didn’t even have my phone to take pictures and the ones they take for you are just okay. The hikes were fine, it was a muddy and we weren’t able to swim at the first location due to rain the day before. The guide, however, was an extreme stickler for safety and made the whole thing such a drag. He kept saying “Don’t be creative” and we weren't allowed to step anywhere other than where he told us to. At one point I slightly slipped (literally no harm done) and he gave me the biggest “I told you so” speech as if I was a child. We couldn’t do anything on our own, including the slide. There were little kids standing on rocks and sliding down and he made us crawl up in front of the some 50 people there, it was honestly embarrassing. Then he spent 15 minutes telling us how to go down the slide, making it so no one else there could get past. When he came down last he didn’t follow what he told us to do anyways. This hike has no age restrictions or swimming requirements. One of the families had three kids with them, around 3, 5, and 6. The three year old cried and whined the entire time and one of the older kids had a iPad at max volume on the shuttle. None of the four adults could swim, at one point my sister and I pulled two of the them out of the current. The photos had mostly adults but know this is a risk. We almost didn’t do part of the hike/second slide we paid for because the guide didn’t think they would make it. Because we took so long to everything thanks to the little kids, by the time we got to Luquillo we only had an hour to spend there. We barely had time to sit down and get food, we did not even get to go to the beach. That all being said we were only in PR for 4 days and really wanted to see El Yunque but this tour was a waste of all whole day. The guide really did seem like a nice guy but made us feel like we were on a school trip with strict rules. The slides were a couple seconds of fun, the hikes just fine, and the beach, who knows we don’t get to go.

Beware completely misleading and not worth the price

Beware: Completely Misleading and Not Worth the Price I want to start by making it clear that the taxi driver was excellent—professional, kind, and simply doing his job. This review is in no way a reflection of his service. However, I strongly advise anyone considering this so-called “excursion” to stay far away. This is not an excursion. It is completely misleading and borders on being a scam. The description led me to believe I was booking a guided tour around Culebra, including snorkeling and visits to multiple beaches. In reality, once I was in the taxi, I was informed that it’s actually a self-guided tour—meaning that once you arrive at Culebra, you are left to figure everything out on your own. There is no guide waiting for you, no planned activities, and no real structure at all. When I contacted management for clarification, they confirmed that it is indeed self-guided (which is *nowhere near clear in the listing) and offered me a full refund with a return trip to my hotel. By that point, however, I was already en route and had planned my day around this supposed excursion, so I felt forced to go through with it rather than waste the entire day. Let me break down how much you overpay for this scam compared to simply organizing it yourself: • Uber to and from the ferry terminal: ~$80 • Taxi on Culebra to Flamenco Beach: ~$10 • Beach entrance fee: ~$4 Total: ~$104 - for 2 people What I paid for this so-called “excursion”: $160.00 - for 2 people The difference is staggering—and you get no added value for the extra money. I cannot stress enough: save yourself the frustration and money by booking everything independently. Don’t make the mistake I did. Again, the driver was wonderful and even apologized on behalf of the company, which he had no reason to do—it’s clear that the problem lies entirely with the organizers, not the transportation. In summary: Completely misleading, overpriced, and not worth your time or money

Amazing Boat Day

We had such an amazing time on our boat tour with the Captain Jay, Oscar and the rest of the crew. They made sure we had everything we needed at all times and made the experience a 10/10. Would definitely recommend !!!

The team was super...

The team was super friendly and kind and I liked that but 30 minutes for the price was not worth it the green car did not go to full speed even the guide was like you need to go faster but it would not go really. We were under weight limit so don’t know what the issue was.

Great Food And History Lesson

What a great tour! Carlos was friendly, knowledgeable, and really entertaining. We began the trip with an informative tour of the refurbished Vanderbilt Hotel, then visited the seaside community of Pinones for some local Caribbean/Puerto-Rican cuisine. We enjoyed delicious fried plantains chased by fresh coconut water! We then visited old San Juan learning much of its history from before the Spanish conquistadors through the modern day and efforts to achieve Statehood. When visiting San Crisobal (the old fort), we witnessed whales breaching off the coast. It was great way to end the tour! Highly recommend this culinary and historical and educational tour of Old San Juan.
