I would definitely recommend Northern Soul adventures for a Northern lights chase. The small group size is perfect and Bogdan and Lucas (our guide and driver) were fantastic with their knowledge and passion for the Aurora and the Tromso area. Bogdan did explain that they check the weather conditions, aurora apps and have a network with the other tour groups to ensure that they know where to go to get the best chance of seeing the lights. We were told to bring our passports in case we needed to go to Finland so they are prepared to travel to get you a sighting of the Aurora if needed. We were very very lucky to have the most incredible display on the night we booked and the fantastic photos Bogdan took plus the drinks and food round the campfire made this an unforgettable experience. All the photos were sent to us the next day and were included in the price of the trip. A truly magical and memorable evening.
WOW WOW WOW! No words for this trip, an easy pick up with two amazing guides. Thank you so much Simon and Voytec. So knowledgable, lovely and made this trip so fantastic. They picked a great spot for the night around the fire and boy did we see a show right at the very end. I know this is down to luck, we are so grateful we go to see such an amazing sky. However even if this wasn’t the case Simon and Voytek made it such a memorable experience. Thank you so much.
The forecast looked bad due to overcast conditions, but Harry and Rafael were successful in finding the northern lights. It was a great show!!! Harry and Rafael were also extremely knowledgeable about the science behind this phenomenon, and we're extremely helpful with recommendations towards photographing the northern lights. Money will spent!
We had a very disappointing experience on this tour. The tour operator seemed unprepared and lacked clear instructions throughout the day. The reindeer area was not well-maintained which was quite off-putting. The sledding experience was also much shorter than expected—barely lasting 3 minutes instead of the promised 10. We opted for one vegetarian and one Reindeer soup, and both were completely watered down and with about only half the bowl filled. Given the price, we were left feeling extremely dissatisfied. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend this experience to others, as it didn’t meet expectations at all. Please spend your hard earned money somewhere else!
We took the tour on the 22th with all my family. After chasing them for days they have just send a message that our pictures are lost...Be careful with this service as they are not very professional!! Alberto was our guide, so if you are doing the tour with them don't rely on their pics!!!! Don't waste valuable time taking them. "We regret to inform you that the photos taken during your Northern Lights Chase on February 22nd have unfortunately been lost and we are unable to recover them."
I cannot say enough about how fantastic this tour was. These guys go above and beyond to exceed all expectations. They are knowledgeable, engaging and fun. Although they work hard and put everything into their service they make it stress free and joyful for their clients. Do not hesitate to book them
We have done city cycle tours in a number of cities now, and this was the best. Guide Patrick did a great balance between speaking and riding, which was important on a 2 degree winter’s day. Information was succinct, relevant and delivered with a slight touch of humour. Tour places were stunning.
25 Feb 2025, I will remember this night for my life! The northern lights that we encountered with Chasing Lights were incredible, best of the best! Special thanks to our tour guide Bailey, driver Ivan and assistant Mati. They did a great job for the forecast and chasing! Bailey is really a professional photographer with true passion. The landscape and portrait photos taken by him are amazing! Full resolution photos were shared with us just a few hours after the tour. The service of hot blackcurrant juice, chocolate cookies and hot meal are perfect as well.
It was great that the guide was responsive to the conditions to get the most out of the experience. He was really friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. He allowed as many photos taken as people wanted to capture the memories. It would have been good to have had something to sit on round the fire like the other groups around us.
Massive thanks to Babang who was an absolutely amazing guide. We headed out to a great location and were lucky to have an awesome display. Babang helped us get the best settings for our camera and also took some really lovely photos that we could download. He provided great commentary and explanations about the Northern Lights. Overall a wonderful trip and well worth it. Big thanks to Esma in Skaret for advising and arranging our booking.
