We only had a short day in Riga from our cruise. Rolands helped us make the best of it with a fun hike through the incredible Kemeri Great Bog. We got a bonus side trip in a swamp area which was very different from the big. The visit to Jurmala surprised us with an amazing beach. We managed to squeeze in a brief visit to old town Riga before we had to leave. Rolands is an excellent representative of Latvia. He was kind, patient and professional. We learned so much and will be glad to return one day to take more tours!
Martin was incredibly knowledgeable and could not have done anything more to make our trip memorable and special. Nothing was too much trouble and he was incredibly friendly and kind. The trips to the castles were so interesting and in particular the Cesis Castle was the best castle we had ever seen. I would highly recommend this tour.
Interesting experience. Very knowledgable guide. Recommend you get flag or something so we can spot you in the crowds, perhaps a yellow umbrella, as that’s what you out in your literature as a meeting point. You bought the city to life with the history and stories. Thank you. 5 out of 5
I had an amazing day trip to the Hill of Crosses from Riga! The tour guide, Jānis, was fantastic—super knowledgeable, friendly, and really went out of his way to make the experience great. He shared a lot of interesting history along the way and even stopped at the Latvia–Lithuania border, which was such a cool bonus! Jānis also offered to take photos, which was really thoughtful and made the trip even more memorable. The Hill of Crosses itself is such a unique and powerful place—definitely worth the visit. Highly recommend this tour if you’re in Riga!
We were recommended this tour guide for a trip to Bauska Castle and Rundale Palace through The Grand Poet Hotel. Normunds Heincis was our guide for the day and he was outstanding. Normunds did explain that he could not take us around Rundal Palace as the Palace only allow Official Rundaale Palace guides to take you around the interior but he did tell us a lot about the palace. He is an excellent english speaking guide who has a good knowledge of Latvian History as well as Bauska Castle and Rundale Palace. From the moment he picked us up at the hotel he put us at ease and in control of what we wanted to do for the day. This is the first time that we have hired a private guide for a day and we were pleased we did. I would highly recommend Normunds who is knoweldgeable, courteous and has a good sense of humour. We finished the day trip having learned a lot about Latvian history and culture which made our holiday that much more rewarding.

We are currently waiting for our new tour time.
This was a well done overview of Latvia’s cultural and natural beauty highlights outside of the capital. Our guide, Jimmy, did an excellent job providing a lot of interesting and useful information. He made us feel like we were traveling with an old friend! I highly recommend this as a great way to cover a lot of ground!
This is an excellent day out which is fascinating - particularly so if you are interested in military or cold war history - and allows you to access two previously secret Soviet Latvian facilities. We were picked up from our hotel which was very convenient given it was an 8am (due to the distances travelled over the course of the day). Our driver and guide, Martins, was brilliant. He was very informative, very friendly, very accommodating and, of course, a very good driver. Martins also acted as our guide around the former missile base and was very patient with our constant questions and photo stops! He is a great ambassador for his employers. He also took us to an excellent country restaurant for lunch - great food and great value. Our guide around the underground bunker, Regina, was also excellent. She was full of information and had a great sense of humour. Our party on this trip consisted of 4 adults so I thought the cost per person represented good value.
An excellent tour which departs from a convenient location in the heart of the Old Town. Our driver and (for a couple sites, our) guide Yannis, (apologies if the spelling is incorrect) was brilliant. He kept us entertained and provided so much information as we drove around the countryside. He was very flexible and gave us some options around what we saw, and when. We also received useful information the day before the tour, such as advice to bring headphones for audio tours at Rundales.
A great way to be educated about, and orientated around, the Old Town. Our guide Gita was brilliant. The tour was pitched nicely - very informative but delivered by her in a very relaxed and friendly manner. We learned a huge amount. I would absolutely recommend this walking tour.
