The trip was fantastic! My partner and i thoroughly enjoyed the day! Emerson was a fantastic guide! He was very informative and so well organised! Everything ran extremely smoothly! It’s a very long day so in the future if i was to do it again id maybe stay a night on the island de sol or in copacabana! Amazing trip and would recommend!
I had an absolutely blast riding the Death Road with Barracuda Biking. Marcelo and Alvaro were our guides, and they made the entire experience smooth, safe, and so much fun! Everything was explained clearly (in very good English) and calmly – from the route to all the safety measures – and I felt in great hands the entire time. There were plenty of stops along the way to rest, take in the views, enjoy some snacks, and share a few laughs with the group. The bikes were in excellent condition, and all safety equipment was provided and well-maintained. Marcelo and Alvaro brought great energy and made sure everyone felt comfortable and confident throughout the ride as well as encouraged to go at their own space and constantly reminded of the safety measures during the ride. Highly recommend doing the Death Road with these guys – it’s a must-do experience when in La Paz, and Barracuda makes it top-notch from start to finish! Cheers guys!
Valery was absolutely amazing! We happened to be the only people on the tour this morning which meant we had her full attention! She was extremely informative and also was very interested in our cultures and beliefs which made it more special! It was such a nice introduction to La Paz and definitely helps you navigate your way around this amazing city! We couldn’t have been happy with our tour and our guide! Thank you so much!
That was a fantastic experience! Take a walk at Inka’s trail, have a guided tour and know more about local environment and have a nice lunch with a fantastic view, just before see dinosaur tracks! This was the best Sucre’s experience. It take a long walk, recommended confort clothes. Our best hugs to Luiz and Dinelsa (best guide and photographer hahaha).
The difficulty of this "death" tour is not extraordinary. The views are probably great-- we had a bad weather day. The experience itself is a bit underwhelming. here were my MAJOR issues with it: - if you don't live in the central neighborhood, no pickup for you. The experience starts early at 6AM, so you have to find a taxi to drop you off at the "meetup point". - the gears: gloves and helmet REEKED of sweat. Lord knows what year they were washed before we used. It really was BAD! And you just could not ignore or forget it. - the bike: did not have rear suspension. and the seats did not have any cushion or foam-- meaning after all the offroading, it is a pain to sit down. - Gandalf, the guide was smoking like a chimney. At some point his eyes were so red; I was genuinely concerned about finishing safe, as we were promised we would celebrate by "having beer". - the buffet lunch did not seem like a legitimate partnership: you could have everything but no second helping allowed. When confronted about several of these issues, we were told "you get what you pay for". I get that there were experiences by other companies for a much higher price range. But humbly and honestly, I do not think we got worth what we paid for. Now, onto the good bit: -Gandalf the guide is knowledgeable, he will gesture all the hand symbols and keep you alerted (at least for the part that he did, he did well.) - He takes care of pictures and videos. Even though his phone quality may not be the best-- he knows the spots and the angles. For all the insta girlies out there, you can trust him with your phone. - The drop off is in the evening around 4-5 pm at the city center, so you can have a good stroll and see the nightlife of the city center. - You are offered flavored-maracuya coca leaf to combat altitude sickness if you are into that. - You can have a lovely time at the pool, if your cotravelers agree on the amount of time you spend there. I don't know why you would swim after the food though.

The guides were professional, providing not only safety instructions but also just the right amount of interesting stories and the necessary political context that plays a role. Incredible experience and beautiful country, not the best guide. Definitely worth visiting and experiencing although preparing for the trip and during the trip was just poor organization. We had to ask questions to our guide for every attraction, never told us what was on the itinerary. We would pull up to an attraction, tell us we to meet us back at the car in 15 mins no explanation of the attraction, no insights, it’s as though he was a cab driver. Again, 100% do this tour but seek a good guide perhaps from another listing.
Exploring the Salar de Uyuni with my loved ones turned out to be an unforgettable adventure, and I attribute all the credit to Uyuni Experience.
