Journey through time, back to the Golden Age of Piracy! As your very own Pirate himself tells you the tales of the history of the Pirates and how they influenced the shaping of our democracy! Learn of Blackbeard and his men and what happened on November 21st . Hear of the Templars and what happened if you were caught as a Pirate! How did the Pirates shape our World Economy? Learn all about the Bachelor’s Delight. This is all about Pirates and you will learn a lot of history that will intrigue you to find out and ask our guide questions as he has a true passion for Piracy in the “ New World “.

Meeting points

We meet at the Capitol Building on East Duke of Gloucester Street. Your guide will be in a Pirate’s Costume. We Do Not Meet At Visitor Center ! You can park at 460 East Francis Street . Walk across Francis Street onto Blair Street and you will see your guide up ahead in front of Capitol.

  • Colonial Williamsburg Capitol Building (Pass By)

    You will follow your costumed guide as you stroll down the streets of Colonial Williamsburg listening to the Stories of The Pirates that roamed the East Coast and the Virginias. Hear about the history of the Pirates and how they were a very important part of our past and our democracy. Learn of the most famous Edward Teach and his men sailing the seven seas! What was the Bachelor’s Delight? Journey back in time as your very own Pirate takes you there! The adventures on the high seas. Kids come see Mr. Pirate as you go on your very own Treasure Hunt and solve the mystery!

From the moment we set out, our guide – dressed in authentic pirate attire – captivated us with tales of daring buccaneers, colonial intrigue, and the real-life pirates who roamed Virginia’s waters. The tour is well-paced, blending pirate legends with historical context, so you feel like you’re stepping back in time. Along the way, we learned about the brutal realities of piracy, and even picked up some “pirate lingo.” Highlights included hearing about Blackbeard’s dramatic capture and the significant role of piracy in colonial economics and politics. Whether you’re a history buff or just in it for the swashbuckling fun, the Pirate Tour at Colonial Williamsburg is a fantastic way to experience this part of history.
