Discover Rottnest Island by bicycle and experience over 63 beaches and 20 bays as you explore this unique A Class Reserve. Cycling is environmentally friendly and a fun recreational activity for all ages. As Rottnest Island has essentially no cars, cycling is one of the best ways to get around the Island. Experience Rottnest like the locals do!

Meeting points

Our B Shed Office has temporarily closed. Look for the blue SeaLink ticketing office on the eastern side of E Shed. Boarding for all passengers closes 10 minutes prior to departure.

This activity ends back at the meeting point.

Itinerary

Please collect a bike wristband from the blue ticketing desk. As you get onboard the ferry, you will be given your helmet and lock. Once you get off the ferry, you can collect your bike from our boat crew.

  • Public transportation options are available nearby
  • Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
  • Bicycles must be collected by an Adult (18+ years), or be accompanied at time of collection by a parent or guardian 18 years or older.
  • Return ferry from Rottnest Island 4:00pm, arriving Fremantle approximately 4:30pm. For alternative times off the island, please contact the operator.
  • Limited paid parking is available near the departure point. Please allow ample time for parking. Public transportation or a ride share is recommended
  • Adult size bikes only
  • Bikes must be returned to the boat crew on the same day onboard the return ferry
  • Not recommended for travelers with mobility problems

The staff were really friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend cycling the island, it's good exercise even if you're not all that fit like me - bike brakes were pretty squeaky but manageable. Quokkas are everywhere so they're really easy to spot. The boat ride was very lumpy on the way back but was well managed to make us as comfortable as possible.

Highly recommend if you visit Perth to visit Rottnest Island
