Overview

Join us for a journey to the North Pole in Colorado’s Royal Gorge and meet Santa Claus himself. The Santa Express Train is a winter wonderland, where children of all ages gather to make memories you’ll treasure year after year. Our NEW Santa Express Train holiday locomotive leads the train through the Royal Gorge to the North Pole and back. It’s an absolute holiday masterpiece and is unlike any other in the world, featuring hand-spun gold-leaf paint, 313 hand-painted snowflakes, 40 hand-painted pine trees, and of course, Santa’s magical sleigh and reindeer flying through the sky under a full moon. While aboard, you’ll enjoy your favorite Christmas tunes and cheerful decor. During the journey, you and your family are welcome to order and enjoy lunch or dinner, as well as your favorites from our full bar, while we make our way through the Royal Gorge to pick up St. Nick. Once the guest of honor boards the train, Santa will greet every child and give each of them a very special gift.

Adventure worth the time & money!

The Royal Gorge Santa train was worth every penny! My family of 3 enjoyed our adventure through the canyon! We purchased tickets that included breakfast vouchers which was nice. Breakfast was tasty and it was convenient to be able to dine while we ride. My waitress was wonderful and on top of it! Our train had an elf who served cookies and cocoa on the house- cute! We played holiday bingo and had a blast! Our train conductor was Glenn and he was knowledgeable and fun!

My family including adult children, and grand children enjoyed the 4:00PM trip to the North Pole to visit Santa. The trip was great. The staff was enthusiastic and everyone was very helpful. My Grand Children were particularly enthralled with the Elf in our car Bitz. She was energetic and kept everyone excited and engaged during the ride. It was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Royal Gorge Railroad will make you want to come back!

We have been going to Royal Gorge since 2014 and this was the best year since the first time. We were on the Strong car and the people working that were amazing! Glenn and Gordon absolutely made the trip magical for our family! The rest of the staff in the car were awesome as well. We couldn't be happier with our experience. We have been disappointed in previous years because there wasn't much interaction between staff and kids. Staff seemed like they were working a job and not making it enjoyable. It wasn't worth the cost. After this year, we definitely will be back!

Destination North Pole: A Fantastic Journey

Wow! We had a great time on our first ever ride on the Santa Express train yesterday. The staff was so amazing and made our two grandchildren have the time of their life. The "elves" on the train served hot cocoa and cookies and even sang some Christmas songs. As a family we thoroughly enjoyed our experience and will be back next year for sure!
