Overview

During this private tour, starting from a minimum of 2 people, you'll embark on a 6-hour journey in a comfortable air-conditioned car to visit three esteemed Etna wineries, where you will learn about their wine production process. Renowned for its fertile soil nourished by the eruptions of Mount Etna, this Region is hailed as one of the world's finest for grape cultivation and wine production. You will visit three top Etna wineries. Wines of these wineries are on top lists of premium wine associations. You will have the opportunity to taste a variety of white, rosé, and red wines, complemented by fresh domestic food. Immerse yourself in the authentic Sicilian countryside ambiance as you savor each sip of wine. All expenses, including food, beverages, and entrance fees, are covered in the tour price. Additionally, this tour is also available as a semi-private experience, accommodating up to 8 individuals.

Itinerary

Your personal tour leader will pick you up at your hotel/port and from there you will start your wonderful private journey through three Etna wineries. Driving through small authentic mountain villages, you will admire unforgettable views of Sicilian countryside full of oranges and lemon plantations, olives and almond trees, houses and old churches built of lava stone. Finally you will reach the first venue, welcomed by a sommelier who will explain you the wine production process. In here you will taste 3 Etna DOC wines with three different kinds of “bruschetta”, a crunchy home made bread dressed with different traditional pates. Enjoying the panoramic view of Etna, you will drive to the second venue, another outstanding Etna winery, where, with a professional sommelier, you will taste 4 wines of the Region accompanied by a traditional “tagliere” of local products and pasta. You will continue the tour to the next venue, a winery with an authentic charm. Here you will taste 3 red and white wines accompanied by fresh domestic appetizers: locally produced cheeses, meat delicacies, olives, olive oil and fresh bread. After the tour, your guide will bring you back to your accommodation.

Excellent tour to experience the diversity of Sicilian vineyards.

Omar was a great guide, very entertaining and knowledgeable about Sicily. We would highly recommend this tour especially the Gelsomino Vinyard and Le Vite Vinyard. The Gambino Vinyard was a bit crowded, although they have a good selection on wine.

What a magical day touring wineries in Mt. Etna region! Elena was a fantastic guide and we couldn’t have asked for a better day. All 3 wineries were diverse and incredible. Was a dream day for me and my fiance.

We actually did two tours with Prestelli - this one and one to Mt. Etna walk with lunch and wine tasting at a winery. The tour guides were top notch - Alessandra for our Mt. Etna tour, and Elena for the winery tours. Both were extremely knowledgeable as well as wonderful to talk to. My favorite winery was one I actually chose - Filippo Grasso. The only thing I would inquire about is how many wines you will actually taste at each winery. Some of the wineries seemed more interested in giving you a lot of food and less wine - still wonderful but we were expecting more wine and less food. The company itself was extremely easy to deal with. Highly recommend using them!

Marco was our driver, and he was pleasant and friendly. His English was good, and he did a very nice job driving the roads to the wineries. All three wineries were a very nice experience with good explanations, and wonderful wine tastings and lunch. A very enjoyable day.

Best winery tour in Sicily.

Wow, what an excellent tour of boutique wineries on the slopes of Mount Etna! We visited with our guide Maurizio, a native of the area, and he selected three fantastic wineries. We did this as a shore excursion from the cruise port in Messina, and it was an ideal activity. The three wineries were gorgeous, with beautiful views and lush settings, and of course delicious wine that we won’t see in the US. We also had an excellent lunch served as part of the excursion, by one of the wineries. It will probably be the best food we have in Italy! A highly recommended activity if you love wine, or have already vacationed in Sicily and are looking for something a little different to do. Definitely request Maurizio as your guide, he is an excellent driver and knows all the wineries and operators there. You’ll have a great day!
