Spend time and have fun learning with your very own olive oil sommelier! I'm in love with olive oil and I can't wait to share my passion with you! Let me guide you in the beautiful world of olive oil aromas and flavours, while having fun, understanding olive oil culture and connecting with an expert local! Let your senses guide you through different olive oil samples, sniff for the fruitiness and the aromas, taste the peppery and bitter notes and learn how to evaluate olive oil quality on your own. You will become an olive sommelier for a day, discussing the food pairings of olive oil and the many uses in the kitchen while you will learn about the health benefits of olive oil and the Mediterranean diet. At the end, we will have amazing memories together based on fun, knowledge and connection! Could you ever imagine olive oil connecting people so much? yes!

I will meet you with a big smile outside our family olive grove where there is an OLEOSOPHIA sign & the small chapel of St. Efrem, a family heritage! We're just 8 mins drive from the Zevgolatio exit of the highway - a beautiful drive with olives & grapes! Safe travels, see you soon!

Itinerary

You will experience olive oil tasting inside our family olive grove and learn about Greek olive oil culture! Starting from our meeting point, the petite chapel of St. Efrem, we will walk through a traditional, family olive grove to explore the rare Manaki olive trees, learn about the cultivation, the sustainable agricultural practices and the family history! After our walk through the olive trees, we will enjoy an olive oil tasting with a view of the olive groves and grapes of the mythical slopes of Mt. Fokas, where the Lion of Nemea was born! You will learn all about : olive oil categories and the basic principles of olive oil tasting, the fruitiness, pungency and bitterness of olive oil how to appreciate & taste olive oil to identify award winning qualities as well as negative traits to avoid in olive oil all the health benefits it provides You'll learn about the Mediterranean diet in a holistic way and enjoy olive oil food pairing with Greek flavors! Leaving the activity, you will have formed a true connection to the land and locals, you will see olive oil in a new light, have the knowledge to select an olive oil from the shelf & add value to your nutrition & well-being!

AMAZING experience!!

Our favorite experience in Greece! My family and I learned so much about olive oil production and what to look for on the packaging to ensure we buy a quality product. Marianna was our host and she was phenomenal! She is very knowledgeable on the topic and she made the olive oil tour and tasting so fun and enjoyable. It was a wholesome day with amazing views. We highly recommend Oleosophia to anyone traveling to Greece!

Great olive oil tour with a fabulous host

Oleosophia is a beautiful place with delicious olive oil, but what really makes it a marvelous place to visit is Marianna. She is warm, welcoming, incredibly knowledgeable about all things olive oil and has designed a wonderful experience for foodies and clueless tourists alike. Even in the mid-day heat, Marianna made sure we were comfortable, and took the time to answer all of our many questions, while introducing us to ideas and flavors we didn't know to ask about. We've been on similar food-focused tours in other places, and it really is the people who make the difference. If you have been enjoying Greek olive oil, or just want a gorgeous place to stop along your tour through the country, contact Oleosophia. And don't be shy to ask if they can work with your schedule.

We are from Northern California and have done many wine tastings over the years. The olive oil tasting with Marianna was a highlight of our recent trip to Greece. I learned so much and she was absolutely delightful. She is doing a great thing here and if you love food I highly recommend taking part in her olive oil tasting, You will not be disappointed.

After traveling in Greece for 2+ weeks, we did not have anything planned for the last day and were looking for something to do. We contacted Marianna and arranged for an Olive Garden walking tour and Olive Oil tasting. The event began with the walking tour and ended up with the tasting in an outside pavilion. The experience was so unique and is a must do if you are in the area. We learned so much about the process beginning with the olive trees to tasting olive oil and pairing with foods. The experience was priceless and I would highly recommend making this a priority! She has a Facebook group and puts out fun facts occasionally about olive oil. We found their olive oil through a supplier in the US and have ordered quite a bit for personal use and gifts.
