Overview

We will explore the Marine Protected Area of Porto Cesareo aboard our Kayaks and Canoes, easy to handle and safe. Always accompanied and guided by an Environmental Hiking Guide, an instructor and a Marine Biologist, we will make you experience a unique adventure to discover this wonderful natural environment. We will snorkel to discover the submerged treasures of the Marine Protected Area, we will learn about marine biodiversity, fish, octopus, starfish and beautiful and harmless multicolored jellyfish. We will transform into underwater archaeologists and observe the famous submerged Roman columns, lying a few meters deep. We may spot sea turtles and, if lucky, the large and harmless basking shark. Get ready for a one-of-a-kind adventure, to be enjoyed with the whole family. Our excursions are suitable for everyone and extremely safe. Our certified guides and instructors together with marine biologists will guide you on this wonderful adventure.

We will meet at the Free Beach of Torre Chianca, here the Naturale Salento Staff will be waiting for you, the free beach is served by two beaches: Hoana Beach & Restaurant and The Beach Sofia, where you can find all the services such as bathrooms, showers, bars and Restaurant.

Itinerary

With this splendid marine excursion in Kayak and Canoe we will explore Porto Cesareo and the Marine Protected Area. Always accompanied by an Environmental Hiking Guide and Marine Biologists, we will paddle aboard kayaks and canoes to explore Porto Cesareo and the Marine Protected Area, its unique marine ecosystems rich in biodiversity. Our excursion will start from the small beach near the L'Approdo Nautical Club, we will do a short introductory course on kayaking and canoeing to teach you how to use these splendid nautical means. After becoming familiar with the vehicles we will paddle southwards, we will dive in to do Archaeological Snorkeling and admire the famous submerged Roman columns lying on the sandy bottom just 4 m deep.

Found this kayaking experience here on TripAdvisor while planning our Italian holiday and I'm really glad I did. The day before the kayaking trip, we received all information via WhatsApp and even got a call to double check that we did get all key information safely. The following day was hot, with temperatures of up to 36 degrees, so the organisers communicated with us in in advance about delaying the excursion by an hour - for when the sunshine would be a little less strong. Francesco met the group at a specified place, prepared all kayaks, ensured everyone's stuff was safe and dry and ever since then was just an all-around fabulous kayaking leader. He kept checking on everyone and shared stories, marine knowledge (and he also works as a marine biologist) and his passion for the sea/environment & slow tourism. He took photos of us and shared those via Whatsapp in the end. Overall, this is a really lovely, authentic/unpretentious experience with a big hear and lots of nice touches. We wish Naturalmente Salento all the best in the future!
