We advocate for healthy oceans - join us on our Ultimate Whale Watch and become an ocean advocate too! Cruise in comfort on our 12m rigid inflatable boat, the Ocean Defender, purpose-built for small-group tours and whale watching. Enjoy a stunning scenic ride offering panoramic views of K'gari (formerly Fraser Island) as you head into the protected waters of Platypus Bay, the world's first Whale Heritage Site - a unique resting area and playground for the East Australian Humpbacks on their migration - part of the Great Sandy Biosphere and Great Sandy Marine Park. The tour is led by marine scientists, providing expert interpretation of whale behaviours, as well as facts and findings from ongoing, world-leading research. Listen to whale songs through underwater hydrophones. Take lots of photos from water-level views, and become an advocate for healthy oceans by supporting whale research, marine education and ocean conservation in Australia.

Great experience seeing whales in their natural environment. The great weather on the day helped. We were able to see whale doing the breech, slugging it out with other whales and mother with calf. Crew is very experienced and extremely knowledgeable. Hands down, awesome.

This was my second trip with this wonderful organisation. 5 years ago we had an awesome experience, I was not expecting the same but Millie and Isabelle did not disappoint. We had another amazing day. Whales galore!

Such an amazing tour, small group size & fast rib boat so you are taken to where the whales are quickly! So much better than other tours in Hervey Bay as the boat is small so you can get really close. So special as we experienced a ‘mugging’ of a mum and calf. The guides were really passionate and just as excited as us to see the calves breaching! We were lucky to have someone from the research team on board who was so knowledgeable about the whales. Highly recommend such a special experience. Even got to see K’gari on the way home as the sun was setting.

Amazing trip Heaps of photos The staff on board know their job and the extra detail of knowledge was very Interesting gives a greater insight about whales and what should be doing to ensure the whales are safe in their environment.
