“Eating like a local” is what every true traveller wants. Researching street food is what many famous European chefs have done recently and are showing it in their TV programmes. All the privileges that they have you can have, including videos and photographs.
In Madurai we were taken through town by two charming ladies sampling dishes and drinks you would not have a chance to taste in the hotels.
Surprising methods of preparation, explanation about ingredients, an insight into what how and when the locals eat. We cannot recommend the tour enough. A chat about the city and daily life was an extra bonus.
