Overview

This activity is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced before. Not only is it an incredible way to get close to nature and witness something out of this world, but it’s also a perfect way to enjoy some quality time with your friends and family. This activity is run and operated by staff that truly love what they do. They will go above and beyond to give you an experience worthy of a bucket list activity!

Meeting points

Once you arrive at the end of the gravel road, look for a white van and or a big black box truck that says “Florida-Adventurer” on the side. Please arrive 30 mins prior to your tour time for check-in. If you are late for orientation, you cannot go on the tour. There are no refunds for this tour.

Itinerary

This tour is available all year. Florida has not one but two types of bioluminescence. In the cooler months, our lagoons are inundated with Bioluminescent Comb-Jellyfish. These creatures emit blue-green light. The jellyfish will also light up in the palm of your hand, and don't worry, they don't sting! This immersive experience is a hit with kids and adults alike, and you'll be talking about it for months. In the summer, the dinoflagellate plankton thrives. Every stroke of your paddle lights up the water with a bright neon blue. The fish moving around look like colorful fireworks. See more with a clear kayak. Titusville/Merritt Island in Florida is home to the only bioluminescent bay in the continental US, offering visitors the chance to witness this incredible display of nature up close. As one of only four companies authorized to work on the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, we offer bioluminescent tours that are guided and safe. Chaz was a great guide. The weather wasn’t the greatest for us, but we still had a great time. Very little bioluminescence due to the storms, but we were able to see a little under the bridge.

All That Glitters is Bioluminescence

We were in awe of all the sounds of nature and the glow of the bioluminescence. We got to hold jellyfish that lights up. Such a cool experience. Clint, our tour guide was knowledgeable and lots of fun. Would definitely go again.

First off, this has been a bucket list item of mine for a very long time. My favorite animal is the jellyfish, especially the bioluminescent ones. When I heard my family vacation was going to be in Kissimmee, Florida, I knew I was going to have to make this happen. I talked to Josh who was very informative and he also said that since the time slot I wanted already had people signed up, I would be able to go solo. I signed up for the Clear Bioluminescent Kayak Tour and was greeted by Clint and Ashley. They were great guides and although the dinoflagellates weren't particularly glowing (bright moon, lots of rain), I was most excited when Ashley showed me a Comb Jellyfish. That is what I truly wanted to see and Clint shouted out that there were a bunch near him. Off I went with my happy, little heart and scooped several up to see. It was amazing. At the end of it all I was completely soaking wet and was very glad for my waterproof pouch for my phone and my towel that I left in my car. It was a stupendously, awesome experience and I recommend it highly. Do your research, find out the seasons and check the weather around the times you wish to go. So....Much....Fun!!! Nikie in Texas
