Overview

You will be picked up and dropped off at your accommodation in a luxury Mercedes 7 x seater. Together we will explore the wild beauty of Dartmoor, with its windswept moors, ancient settlements and towering granite tors. Walk amongst the wild ponies and highland cattle whilst immersing yourself in mystical landscape before retreating to a traditional cosy pub (lunch is not included but we will reserve a table for you). Embrace locations that inspired Agatha Christie and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle to write their most famous novels. Our fully inclusive, premium service means we pick you up and drop you off at your accommodation within a 10 mile radius of Paignton TQ4 6BW and 5 mile radius of Ashburton TQ13 7DU ensuring you a hassle free day and maximum enjoyment. Additional mileage charge is £1.25 per mile ... which is be confirmed post booking when location is confirmed, there is the option to cancel FOC if this additional charge is not agreeable.     Known as a "stannary" town, this quintessential English Market town is known as the "Gateway" to Dartmoor. Be enchanted by its architecture, its heritage and contribution to Englands historical past and resident infamous seafarer............learn more!

    A small moorland habitat whose residents in the prison make up over a quarter of the total population. It may not be the prettiest but mention the "Prince of Wales", a famous brewery and a mad axeman and you get an understanding of its diversity and intrigue.

  • Foggintor Quarry

    The largest of the three main quarries on Dartmoor and without doubt the most spectacular. On first viewing you will be taken aback by its strange beauty, its stillness and the myths and legends harboured within it. The walk to and from the quarry is equal to the destination and fulfilling in itself.

  • Haytor Vale

    No trip to Dartmoor is complete without the ascent of one of Dartmoors 150 plus tors. Probably the most famous and accessible, the 360 degree view from the top of Hay Tor will take your breath away and connect you with one of the most beautiful places on our planet. A great experience exploring Devon with Nigel!

Me and my friend were incredibly lucky to find Nigel and spend two absolutely unforgettable days exploring the breathtaking beauty of Devon. Our tour included the South Devon Coast, Plymouth, Dartmouth, Slapton Sands (Torcross), Burgh Island, and, most memorably, Dartmoor National Park, where we enjoyed a walk around the magical surroundings of Wistman’s Wood. Nigel tailored the itinerary perfectly to suit our interests and even adjusted it to accommodate my personal request to visit Wistman’s Wood, which made the experience truly special. Nigel is everything you could hope for in a guide: professional, kind, and knowledgeable. He made the history and natural beauty of every place come alive with his insights. He also photographed us throughout the trip by our request, I attached two beautiful photos us made in Wistman’s Wood by Nigel on my camera :) On the second day, we explored Plymouth Barbican and Plymouth Hoe before heading to Dartmoor. Nigel’s punctuality and attentiveness were remarkable, and he was always happy to accommodate our requests. His car was spacious and comfortable, making the drives between locations enjoyable and relaxing. Nigel is not just a guide but a warm, engaging companion who makes a traveler feel welcomed. Whether you’re passionate about nature, history, or simply looking for an adventure, Nigel’s tours are a must. I’m already looking forward to booking another trip with him and cannot recommend him highly enough to travelers of all ages.

We saw everything we wanted to see: The amazing natural landscape and scenery, the Highland cattle, horses and sheep; the ancient rocks and bridges that are scattered everywhere. Nigel showed us the local history as well - the impressive Dartmoor Prison and nearby villages, Ashburton and its connection with Raleigh, Drake and Doyle. He obviously loves the area and really knows his subject. We even climbed a Tor and thoroughly enjoyed it. Such a wonderful, comfortable, informative tour and worth the price. This is the way to see Dartmoor. Highly recommend you don't miss doing this.
