Last September, I had the pleasure of visiting Gaudí's Capricho in Comillas, a jewel of modernist architecture nestled in the heart of Cantabria, Spain. This early work of Antoni Gaudí, designed in his unmistakable style, stands out not only for its visual spectacle but also for the immersive experience it offers.
The Capricho, or 'fancy' in English, lives up to its name with its whimsical design and intricate details. The building's façade, adorned with vibrant tiles and unique motifs inspired by nature, captures the essence of Gaudí's creative genius. The sunflower patterns that dominate the exterior are not only visually appealing but also symbolize the sun's movement as they face the sun throughout the day.
